Just prior to the COVID pandemic, the world's foremost faith leaders came together under the banner of the Elijah Interfaith Institute for a historic call for friendship across the faiths. Participants included Pope Francis, The Dalai Lama, The Archbishop of Canterbury, The Grand Mufti of Egypt, the Chief Rabbi of Israel, Mata Amritanandamayi (Amma), Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, Sri Ravi Shankar, and many other premier leaders.

This historic campaign has inspired the drafting of the Global Declaration of Friendship, which forms the backbone of the new initiative – Friends Across Faiths Initiative
