While the Friends Across Faiths campaign is global, it will be physically anchored from the historic town of Assisi, Italy. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the town is renowned for its association with St. Francis, the Patron Saint of Italy who was renowned for his peaceful relations across faiths and between all creatures. Assisi, which attracts 6-8 million visitors a year, is also the future home of the Elijah Institute’s House of Friendship and Hope, a museum experience of faith, prayer and friendship across religious traditions. The project has already garnered the support of Pope Francis and of other important religious leaders. It will promote Friendship Across Faiths through special messaging, campaign activities, and events to the 6-8 million visitors who come to the town every year.
